DSD standard Terminal manhole traps fabricated in PE installed in Hong Kong.
As the Drainage Services Department (DSD) and building developers start installing 21st Century drainage systems the focus is to:
• Eliminate maintenance costs
• Significantly extend service life
• Lower Global Warming Protentional (GWP)
Cast Iron P-traps or Terminal Manhole Traps are used to prevent odors caused by sewer gas escaping from manholes, however they have a limited life span due to internal corrosion and require more frequent unblocking as they age and PE has GWP footprint 77% less than cast iron.
